Because Carers Matter...

Millions of people are caring for an elderly relative, a sick friend or a disabled family member.

They do it unpaid and often without support. Unlike parenting, caring is often not a cumulative experience and can happen overnight. People are then thrown into caring with little or no experience and do not know where to turn. Working carers especially have a time pressure and are not available 24 hours a day.

Human Resources teams may well be seeing more and more employees becoming parents but they are also seeing a significant rise in the number of carers in their workforce. As people begin to work longer, it is more likely that caring responsibilities will touch the lives of hundreds of employees. It is for this reason that we offer a range of seminars and programmes to help, support and advise the carer – whether they are caring right now or envisage that they will do so in the near future.
